However, for the vast majority of human history, these developments simply did not exist. My generation, for instance, has never known a world without antibiotics, dentists, or X-rays. Yet, even as these tools have become commonplace, there is still significant room to improve people’s lives and health. New diseases continuously challenge medicine, and there is an increasing need to optimize healthcare for faster and more efficient responses.
