Challenges in Human Resource Management in Healthcare

In this context, it is essential to consider the role of AI in organizational competitiveness and communication, without neglecting the well-being, happiness, and potential of collaborators from various generations. In this article, I highlight some of the main obstacles in HR management in the healthcare field.

One of the biggest challenges is the scarcity of qualified healthcare professionals. The departure of professionals in this area has been increasing, while the entry of new doctors has not kept pace with the departures. This reality results in an increased workload, higher stress levels, and often leads to a decline in the quality of care.

Universities have a limited number of spots for medical courses. This number has not increased significantly in recent years, despite the population growth.

The country has an increasingly aging population, which translates into a burden on healthcare services due to the rise in chronic diseases and the need for more complex medical care.

To mitigate this problem, it is crucial to invest in opening new and more spots in medical courses. This measure requires significant investments in infrastructure, laboratories, hospitals, and teachers. Alongside these measures, it is essential to improve working conditions to retain professionals and prevent them from leaving for other countries.

The rapid technological evolution requires all healthcare professionals to constantly adapt to new systems and tools. However, the lack of adequate training can result in resistance to change and improper use of these technologies.

Health institutions must invest in the implementation of new technological tools and provide continuous training and technical support to facilitate adaptation to new technologies. The implementation of systems should be accompanied by an educational policy that ensures all professionals are capable of using them efficiently.

The challenges in human resource management in healthcare are complex and multifaceted. However, with adequate policies, investments in training, and improvements in working conditions, it is possible to overcome these obstacles. It is essential that managers, professionals, and the government work together to create a more efficient, humane, and sustainable healthcare system. The future of healthcare depends on how we face and resolve these challenges today.
